Hi there. My 2004 arctic cat 400 auto starts and runs fine for like 5 minutes forward and back. Then it seems to start slipping. I have to rev it up just to make it move. I had you put a belt on it 2 years ago. What could it be?

Yes, as others are suggesting it is possible that at least one of the seals in the belt case is allowing oil onto the belt and causing the slipping. We can likely diagnose this in less than an hour if you decide not to tackle it yourself. Right now we can offer a very quick turn-around too.

Thanks for all who responded. I will make a appointment and bring it in. It's been a very good wheeler. I can't let it sit. Thanks again.

Clutches or crank seal

Roger | May 3, 2019

Most likely the crank seal is bad and oil is leaking onto the clutches making the belt slip.

Does it work good for 2 years just two cans of brake cleaner and clean the clutch

Lance Mckenzie | May 3, 2019

Could be the clutches need to be rebuilt.
