Yes. Very worth it. If your on the northside (i beleive its the northside), facing towards grandfather across the lake.. i guess its one of the prettiest views/scenes on the parkway. The hike around the lake is easy and short, but if you cross the parkway and go up in the camp grounds theirs a 5 mile loop trail (boone fork trail) that is also awesome. A breif section of mountains to sea trail also runs along with boone fork for about 2-3 miles. That whole area of the parkway is a real treat to explore.
It's worth the $20 per night. It's quiet at night, so you can hear the crickets and frogs. There are 29 tent only sites, 4 RV and 2 handicap sites on the loop next to the lake. Starting the 2018 season there will be hammock sites in F loop, with the RV's. C and D loops are tent only, B is mainly tents, and E is for RV's. There are locations to get potable water, dump station, trash and recycle dumpsters and a brand new shower house in D loop.
If you love being able to scramble on some rocks you'll love it here. As long as your kids are old enough to run around you'll have a great time 😄
