We stayed for 2 weeks this summer and called to make a reservation for new year’s and got told the same thing. I love the campground but hate that they’ve start doing this. They said it had something to do with by laws that were set in place in the 80’s but for some reason the ordinances don’t apply to RV’s or lot owners
I am very disappointed that this change was made.We have been visiting HHI & staying at HHHRV for over 10 years. We were there in June 2020 with our new camper which has 5 slides & 42.5 feet long.No problems fitting on the site. Now they are saying no slides & nothing over 35 feet long.I just called to ask why the change & the lady was very nice but did not really know. She said it was due to the homeowner covenants. Some sites are individually owned so I wonder how those people feel about the new changes.I know management changed a few years ago.Doesn't seem like they are making very wise choices at the moment, especially for those who obtain income from renting their sites. From my understanding it is only travel trailers & 5th wheels not allowed with slides & over 35 feet.Sounds like they are trying to narrow it down to only motorhomes.Very sad.Majority of campers we have seen there every time we have been are 5th wheels & travel trailers. Hopefully this changes back to allow everyone
We have camped here for Thanksgiving for over 12 years now and suddenly can’t come “with slide outs”. Makes no sense. They say they are honoring their covenants now.
I dont understand it at all. We stayed there with our 40 ft camper with two slides last May. Now we are not welcome unless you have a motorhome and then slides are allowed? Makes absolutely no sense!
Sounds like they only want the rich in there. We used to go there every Easter. At that time the lots were selling for 10,000 dollars 😬😬and we thought why would we pay 10,000 for a driveway. Well I wish we had 💵💵💵. By the prices they are definitely trying to push out families and travel trailers and only wanting retirees in 200,000 motor homes. Very sad we really loved going there. Great memories
I guess after these years, Someone finally had to read and and apply to the rules. But Great America says you can vote to stay or go or " Make an offer"
