Is donating to Nubble Lighthouse (as part of the town of York, which seems to be in charge of the long-term endowment) a 501(c)3 organization, and therefore deductible for purposes of federal income taxes?

While we are not a 501c3.....yes, your donations are tax deductible. Also the lighthouse is owned by and run by the town of York, not a separate organization. No tax dollars go into the maintenance and upkeep of the island or park. The Gift Shop sales and all donations keep the lighthouse in order. Thanks for the support.

Yes, it is tax-deductible as all donations to non-profits.

I believe Nubble Light is run by a non-profit org. not the town.

Ask a tax collections office

You should ask the organization directly. They would know and be able to give you your receipt, which would include their info.
