How do you access the grounds? I've been there once. It's on an island & didn't see an access way to it.

The actual lighthouse is not open to public but the park gives you an unobstructed view at many angles. Great place to paint or photograph. I enjoy just sitting on the rocks listening to the waves

You cannot access the Nubble light itself, as it is island bound even at low tide. You can, however, access the park leading up to it for a wonderful view of the light, and a pretty good meal!

There did not seem to be a way for the public to get on the grounds of the lighthouse

It's not on an island, it's a peninsula... You drive right up to the parking area
