Usually the first couple weeks of October is best but this year may be delayed a bit by the recent warm weather. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources gives regular updates of approximate peak color for each zone in the state.
You can call or find online one of the local radio stations. They usually have percentage reports on amounts of color in the area.
I just left there 2 days ago and there was good start on color.
Colors should be pretty nice right now
I would check with the local news sources. If you Google peak fall colors in Michigan for 2017 I'm pretty sure you can find a fairly good estimate. Or even just search Facebook for "fall colors Taquahnemon". You might be able to find something that way. It's always different every year because of the weather. Hope that helps.
Thank you all.
