As a former over the road trucker that has hauled salmon for thirty years, I can tell you that 99.9 percent of the salmon sold in this country is farm raised in Central and South America and is flown in where it sits at an airport in customs for a minimum of 4 hours unrerigerated in shipping containers. As for Detwilers, If the filets aren't bright orange with no discoloration, I would say fresh. If it is whole salmon, ask to hold one, lift the gills, they should be a bright red with no strong oder.

Our Salmon is Wild Raised in the cold Waters of the Gulf of Maine. They are fed naturally and no dyes or chemicals added, no hormones added. We get them flown in whole and cut them in house within 48hrs. The tides changes 4 times a day up to 30ft to keep the waters clean. This is the best Salmon on the market in the US!

Did you know farm raised salmon is gray and is dyed orange. Only wild salmon is naturally orange in color.

I think it would be wild. But, call them to insure.
