Are dogs allowed in the campground? And if so, are they allowed to go hiking in the surrounding area? Thank you.

Dogs are allowed at the campground in specific campsites, check when you make your reservation. Dogs however are NOT allowed on almost any of the trails in Death Valley. if you managed to find a trail that is not heavily trafficked, you can probably get away with bringing your dog on leash, that you should probably keep them on leash unless they have an excellent recall since there are wild animals about.

Dogs should be fine, I don't see any reason why not. I don't remember if I saw any dog when I was there on camping last week.

I did see dogs at this camp groud last week. So they are allowed. However, for quite a number of park trails, dogs are not allowed.
