Good for a 5 year old to get worn out! Its actually perfect.
The tour route is 1/2 mile and is child friendly.
My 4 year old did great, they stop at several points along the way so it's really not bad. It's not a long walk anyway but very easy even if there were no stops. Floor tends to be wet/ damp so avoid flip flops for a better time.
We went for a school field trip for my daughter who is in 2nd grade. It wore her out. There is a lot of walking for a child. I think my fit big tracked 1.5 miles walking there.
Tour guide made sure everyone was together before talking about the area in the cave. Easy walk, was in attendance with a couple of kids between 2-5 years old and they did wonderful during the tour.
