It's a walk through, but there is a tour of some of the habitats that has a trolly option or a walking option. It's a must visit.
It is both. If you have disabled persons do the driving for sure as it is gravel. If you have time do the walking as you get more time with the animals and more info.
There is a bus/trolley they have that you can ride through on. Remember this is a refuge not a zoo. So the habitats are designed for the animals. They ha e several areas and you are about to see the animals from different view points. The upper compound area is very flat.
There are great walking sections through the middle of the park and very imformative air conditioned, drive through tours around the perimeter of most cages. There is a map of the park on the website.
We rode the airconditioned bus through since the day we visited was in the 90s. It stopped at each enclosure and the intern gave very detailed information about each animal and also answered questions. We loved it and hope to return soon.
Lived across the mountains from it ..it's a beautiful place and very interesting too..at night we can hear the animals. .it's amazing. .The kids love it. Enjoyed it very much
Walk through, and a very restricted walk too. Several animals in the reserve are not directly visible in the walk.
Its about a half mile walk. Takes about 45 min.
It's a walk through, but it has an option to ride through as well. You can't drive yourself.
