Not sure about bringing in big bags of flower but you can definitely take a vape style battery and cartridge pack inside. Otherwise put a couple of joints in your wallet or wife's purse.
If you are going to the Cannabis event, then you might be able to bring it in, but my guess is no. You can get it inside the event, but just like with anything else, usually outside products are not allowed in the venue. You should email the event hosts directly to clarify.
