Chlorophyll is the cause of our beloved green nugs. The answer to the more uncommon hues like red, purple, orange, and even black buds is a little more complicated. Cannabis plant pigments are produced based on genetics and environmental factors such as temperature and nutrition.

Color is determined by many factors Growing environment, temperature, strain pheno type, stress, chemicals, It can be very pretty and not so good, also not so pretty and knock ya on your but Color only helps bag appeal

Strains are all different colors and really don't make a difference in the quality. As the other person said, color just helps with curb appeal. For example, a purple strain might be bright purple because of cold growing conditions. But that bright purple just makes it look pretty 😍
