As many others have stated, theres a bit if a walk (at least 2.5 miles round trip) but if you have the idea for a day at the beach be prepared. Much of the south side of the park has experienced heavy erosion from the high lake levels, leaving only dune grass ledges down a 4-10 foot sandy cliff that drops directly into the beach. This leads many people to congregate in the sparse northern beach where you will have to be there very early to claim a space.
Dont go to the disc golf side. The better beach is on the other side. Just up the road a ways. Super fun place to go swimming!
The north side of the park has a lot of beach left. Main trail is 1.9 miles round trip, north trail i believe is 4 miles round trip.
It's a half mile hike through the dunes to a sand hill. There isn't much of a beach anymore. It should be open
