This is a top 3 Lake Michigan beach! The hike in makes it more private and the outhouse is always clean! We always pack a picnic and stay for the day!!!!!!!

Absolutely beautiful. You start out on a trail of overwhelming green scenery through trees and nature. Then, the bold blues of the lovely water of Lake Michigan. What a great way to start a morning!

This place is awesome! We went in early November and it was super. There are many species of trees and plants here and a lovely forested area until you get to the beach. This area had beautiful moss and mushrooms, beech and maple trees too. …

Beautiful stretch of a wide sandy beach off the beaten path. Requires a hike to get to the beach. It's an easy hike, about 15 minutes or so, but not close enough that you would want to carry in a cooler or large party items. …

The "big dune" is near the end of the north trail. If you follow the white trail markers it will take you to the foot of the dune. There is a trail from the white trail up the south side of the dune 100 yards or so from the lake.
You can, but there's not too many fish because its so shallow. You'd really have to walk out quite a bit to deeper waters.
MI residents can pay $11 when renewing vehicle registration to get into all MI State Parks for the year.
You have a mile hike to beach from parking. If you feel like carrying your board 2 miles in dune's.
The path is all sand with some roots jutting out occasionally. It'll be difficult but not impossible
No camping. Camping areas farther north in Holland. Picnic shelter near parking lot. One mile hike to lake shore via several trails. Outhouse and water pump at parking lot. Next to Felt Mansion historic site and township park.
I saw signs within the state park that said no motor vehicles.
An old pump house. It was old and covered in graffiti 30 years ago when I was a kid too
Check out Silver Lake state park ORV area near Hart MI
As many others have stated, theres a bit if a walk (at least 2.5 miles round trip) but if you have the idea for a day at the beach be prepared. Much of the south side of the park has experienced heavy erosion from the high lake levels, leaving only dune grass ledges down a 4-10 foot sandy cliff that drops directly into the beach. This leads many people to congregate in the sparse northern beach where you will have to be there very early to claim a space.
There is an area for off road bicycles but nothing for motorized vehicles.
Sorry no, you can use a jogger stroller with bigger wheels so that it doesn't stop in the sand.. hope it helps..
Yup. It is a bit of a hike down to the lake, but once you're there Lake Michigan is great! There is no defined swim area and no lifeguard.
There was a wonderful handicap access ramp all the way to the water but that's gone because of highwatet. When there is beach again, hopefully the ramp will be repaired.
There's a bathhouse/restroom (flush toilets) where the parking lot ends by the lake.
Yes there is camping nearby...Saugatuck is a beautiful place...minus the debris that washed up on the beach...
Yup. All Michigan state parks require a pass. There is also a free township park next to it.
Not sure about that, you could ask a D.N.R. officer or a public servant (police officer)?
I never saw a sign. There is a BMX park there that is unused. That would be a good spot. Everything else is sand.
Mixture of both. It gets looser as you get closer to the beach.
According to the DNR website, dogs are allowed. So technically YES.
