Bear sightings in the Shaver area, and at Camp Edison, are extremely rare being so extremely populated by people. Also bear proof trash cans keep them from having something to come around for, and Fish and Game relocate the scrawny ones that may get desperate to try. There's mabey one sighting every 5yrs or so. Further up at Dinkey Creek or Huntington Lake there are active bear around.
