Can I use a sluice box here, or only a pan?

Sluice box is allowed. We use ours everytime.

Yes you can. We set ours in the water every trip. Day use area too.

Only paning is allowed.

As far as what I've read on the Placer County parks website, only panning is allowed.

No motorized equipment. You're good to go!
