While they do have fire pits, each campsite is required to have ONE person who has a burn permit through CDF. Not only for firepits, but also for BBQ grills. And there are certain times of the the year that ALL fire burns are completely shut down. When you register at CDF you will be provided a phone number to call and check whether a particular day is a burn day or not. These permits are State Law and are required at ALL campgrounds in California. Don't be caught using a fire without one.
