Can you bring your own firewood or have purchase special wood?

In the cherokee National forrest you CAN bring your own firewood although there is plenty to collect. In the neighboring Smokey Mountain National Park you can not bring in your own firewood.

So which is it? That's something that needs a definitive answer. We aren't local. So either we bring our own. Or we have to figure out where to get it there

You can not bring out of region firewood. You can collect it yourself though. There may be locations nearby to purchase firewood that is certified as well.
