They are trying to keep the forest happy by taking out old trees....but they are leaving them in place where they fall for the little critters to make homes in.....😀

With the apartment density surrounding the park, the proactive clearing of undergrowth might be in preparation for a long dry season coming up. New spring growth will add fuel to any existing mass.

At least some clear cutting is necessary, old trees can fall on people.

Sadly, I think they sold part of the park to developers
