Trails are generally susceptible to weather. Fires and snow storms will damage the trails and they usually take a long time to repair. Also waterfall trails are generally closed during winter and mountain trails are generally only ipen during summer, if at all.

97% of the NPS land was burned in last year's Carr Fire. However, thanks to the hard work of an amazing and dedicated staff, more and more of the park's 70+ miles of trails are now open. For current trail closures, contact Whiskeytown.
