MacKerricher State Park - All questions

Address: 24100 Mackerricher Park Rd, Fort Bragg, CA 95437, USA

Lisa Bloom | Jan 20, 2018

The reason it shows completely booked is that they are transitioning from Reserve America to new system Reserve California and phasing in parks. Mackerricher isn't live yet, so everything is first come first served...indicated by the computer saying nothing is available for reservations online. They could have done a better job of explaining on the website. There are a couple more options in the area. Russian Gulch SP is south of Ft. Bragg and some camping on the Headlands...can't remember their names.

There are other camping facilities around Fort Bragg if you can't find one at Mackerricher

Not a fan of the online reservation site. Worse than Reserve America. Not at all user friendly, so difficult to believe EVERY site is booked the entire year. But, thank you for your responses. I'll call MacKerricker.

It's usually first come first serve during the off season and only part of the campsites are open. Sure you'll find a spot.

If you spoke to the ranger that's the scoop

Might be. A lot of whale watching that time of year.
