I would not suggest it because there are many things buried that you could step on! It is a good place to canoe or kayak though! The hiking is nice also!

No, and I would not recommend swimming at the boat landing either. I have seen people do it years ago. They swim in yorktown too. So, if thats your rhing, thats your thing. Shamr the park use to have stairs that you could walk down to the beach. After the hurricane 15 years ago or so wiped them out they never rebuilt them to the beach again. A real shame, was a nice place at one time.

I dont know if the rangers would even let you because of currents. There is no designated swimming areas.

I would call the park and talk to a ranger to be sure. When I visited I saw no swimmers.
