Hi all, thank you for your posts about dogs at Caratunk. The answer is that dogs are not allowed at Caratunk or any Audubon Society of Rhode Island (ASRI) property. The reasoning is that these properties are refuges (i.e. safe places) for wildlife and plants. Dogs (as well as cats) can disturb both the wildlife and hikers. These wildlife refuges are privately owned and maintained by ASRI. Hikers are welcome as long as they stay on the trails and respect the rules that are posted. Thank you for understanding and for supporting Audubon and nature. Jon, Refuge Manager
