If you don't mind walking, it's an easy 1 mile walk. Flat the whole way.

Trollys are different than cable cars, if you are meaning cable cars, the stop for that is on the corner of the park close to Ghirardelli Square, a few blocks from Fishersman's Wharf. There are open air, bus like, trollys as well, I would suggest doing a Google search for those stop locations and times.
