Powell/ Hyde Street cable car drops you within a couple of minutes walk. Muni #19 #30 #47 #91 buses depending on where your coming from & drop right outside.
The powell/mason and powell/hyde lines go to fisherman's wharf (there are only 3 existing trolley car lines, so that's 2/3 of them). Google maps lets you select the mode of transport when you select "directions" so you'll see the cable car routes and schedules.
Depending where your coming from you may want to consider an Uber, i used them all the time in San Francisco, almost as cheap as public transport if there's more than one traveller
