There will be lots of people that weekend. You will want to start early in the day.
I recommend going as early as possible (7am) to avoid crowds, especially during Memorial Day weekend.
Not at 2 pm you will want to start really early in the am i was just therr last weekend and it was super crowded i cant even fathom to imagine what itll be on a national holiday - good luck
You can search the sunset time, but keep in mind it can get darker faster because the nature of canyons. Also maybe take a look at water levels/rain forecasts around the time of your trip. We saw some people wearing full waders in the afternoon, and they expected to be camping overnight.
The full narrows? No, but you can get a good experience with just going up river a mile. No idea on the crowds.
We were just there. Everyone is correct. It will be very crowded, with no parking at the visitors center, making your arrival at the Narrows entrance much later. The park opens at 7a.m. It would be better to go the next morning. If you've never been, the Colorado River is very cold. You're hiking sometime in the water. I would rent waders.
That would be very difficult. I would not recommend that. Zion is the 3rd busiest national park in the country and will probably be packed. By 2, there will be a lot of people in the narrows. I recommend 7am, which is before the park actually opens.

Due to the Government shutdown is Zion included as being some of the national parks that are closed?
