Dependent on time of year the shuttles do shut down, I believe it's the end of this month. At that point you are allowed to drive your vehicle down the shuttle roads. As always, double check with the park rangers and make sure there are no regulations on it.

The shuttle buses do not run all year, only in peak season from the first of March through the end of November. During the winter months, the canyon road is open for cars. When the required shuttle buses are running, a special permit is required to use this road.

Shuttle always run. 644pm is the last pick up at stop 9. You can also ride your bike but you can't drive past stop 3.

You can take your vehicle till Stop No 3 I guess but beyond that, you just need to walk. But the shuttle keeps running till 5-7 pm depending on season.
