Like mentioned above when its warm out is best time i get lucky here and there to see them swim but mostly they are walking around looking all tired and worn out as for the seal tanks being drained they were cleaning them they do that every few months best bet is get a membership and go when ever u can u will catch em swimming here and there. I know not much help srry. Have a nice day
Now that there are two your odds have increased!
I have never caught them swimming in the summer. The only time was when we went on a nice winter day in December.
The polar bear exhibit is partially closed right now. I was there on Friday. The seal tanks are drained right now and the tunnel is closed. They are doing maintenance on the polar bear exhibit AND construction on the grizzly exhibit (as well as the unrelated construction on the tiger expansion) so right now is by far not the best time. As others have said, you best bet is early and when it's warm. But you might wish to wait a few weeks (I don't actually know the timeframe here) until the exhibit is completely reopened. Of note, however is that I have had a membership the last few years and have scarcely seen them at all when the exhibit was fully open. This last time i went they were walking around the part of the exhibit which is open so that you were actually able to see them. So your chances of seeing them at all are actually probably bbetter currently.
I went there on senior day last Wednesday they were in the water around noonish if that helps
In all actuality it varies it's up to the keepers and the zoo there's no specific time for them to be out I've seen them out but never in the water I guess it's just up to the keepers. Warmer weather will decide when they are in the water
The polar bear exhibit is NOT under construction (I was just there). The grizzly bear exhibit is the one under construction. My Husband and I have best luck as soon as the zoo opens and when it's warm out.
I have had anzoo membership for 10 years now and have only seen them in the water twice. I see then every time I go.... Just not in the water.
The Polar Bear exhibit is under construction so they are always out for viewing right now. They swim a lot whwn it is warm out.
