Should be no problem finding a place to tent camp within the trail system off of Crooked Creek or Shotgun Rd.
Lots of places to camp. Very few stay overnight. Either staging area. Or head up the road and find a wide spot off one of the spur roads. Plenty of places to explore or camp. Note, I do believe the trails are closes to bikes due to fire danger. However you can ride all the logging roads in the area.
You could set up a tent at either staging area. The staging areas are both mostly made of gravel. Just post up wherever you want like a pit. Just bring a pad or air mattress.
