Gorgeous trail with plenty of fun varied obstacles! Go with someone who knows the trail though and have a backup communication method in case of emergency (cell signal is spotty).

Great trail! Not for stock Jeeps and 4x4s, would recommend lockers and at least 35 inch tires if not higher. Go with a group, not alone, cell reception is hit or miss and it is very easy to get stuck.

Expect brush scratches. These roads are really tight Jeep trails.

Is the trail suitable for a slightly lifted 94 Chevy 4×4 with 35s?

Doug Morrison | Feb 10, 2020

Yes. Experience, locker(s), and winch will make it less difficult but yes definitely "suitable". Multiple trucks is a must! There is no cellphone service for most of it. If you can spare 2 days, camping halfway in the field is nice and a nice break. Bring trimmers unless you dont care about a little pin stripping. There is a great rocky overlook on the west side in the middle 1/3 that is worth getting out to photo. My favorite trail in VA

No, it's for licenced vehicles only since it is a state road. FS Rangers patrol it daily.
