Definitely take it back, there should be no reason the computer is trying to install Windows again if it is brand new... also it sounds like you are getting the blue screen with the :( face. This is a memory dump due to an error, you also shouldn't be getting this. If it trying to reinstall Windows it sounds like it is trying to restore itself which shouldn't be happening if it is brand new.
Get an exchange. It's like buying a car. If it dies when you drive it off the lot not more problems can happen
Take it back. Probably the gpu fa n is stuck and it's overheating, anything else will tell you what's wrong ? Hard drive error, memory error etc. If it didn't tell you it has to do with cpu.
Don't mess with them fixing it. Replace it with a new one if it's new. Don't accept enything short of a replacement. The manager will try stiff you at the Santa Clarita store.
It sounds like it may be corrupted I would take it back to Best Buy if you just got it they should allow you to exchange it for a new one since that one was sold to you and it was already damaged
About geek squad if you can, for these things. Take it back, exchange it, or find it somewhere else. No need to worry about finding it cheaper somewhere else. Look it up, Best Buy uses "square trade" for warranties, and you can do the same, from ANYWHERE.
take the laptop back
