The land may be taken by eminent domain. It will be a while. They want to put a fire station there.

Plans are to close at the end of this summer (2018). They're in no rush, but would be foolish to miss "the season.".

Town officials have expressed interest in purchasing the restaurant as a future home of the Essex Fire Department. This is still an issue currently being debated and would be subject to public vote at an annual town meeting. Even if the vote were in the affirmative, closing would not be imminent; it would be something for the futue. Bottom line, we are not going away anytime soon. We are very much open for business - come on down.
No idea. They have to bring the proposal to the Town, first, I believe.
I believe they will finish or close end of summer.
