If you are.looking for a place to let dogs run free around the lake I would suggest going to a nearby city. The CdA park is pretty busy with lots of tourists. You can go south on either the east or west side of the lake to a nearby town and most of them will have a public park that's next to the lake that would not be very busy.
The dog park is a few blocks from the lake, but the whole lake is dog friendly. Is that what you were wondering?
The dog park is nearby but not on lake. Cda is a Pet Friendly City. As long as they are on a leash they are welcome almost everywhere including the beach. Just make sure you clean up after them.
