Great hike. Elevation to start, benches to rest, the top is so worth the trip

Great hike, great views, no fault of the park but 75% of the hiking trail was inch thick mud. Which was fun at first but quickly turned to messy and treacherous. Would definitely do this hike again though, maybe in the summer months.

Fantastic loop trail with amazing views. Small parking area and can get pretty busy so plan accordingly. There is an elevation gain but it is accomplished with switch backs so not extremely difficult.

Great hike and great views especially on the way down. I would recommend this hike despite the negative reviews due to cut trees. Hiking boots and hydration pack are a good idea.

Lead-zinc-pyrrhotite deposits. You can read about the history in the trail guide, of 23. [Link below] A prospect shaft is part of the educational trail. (Trailmarker #13) Source: Mineral Ridge Trail Guide (PDF). Coeur d'Alene, Idaho: Bureau of Land Management. 2002. BLM/ID/GI-94/027-3114/REV. 2002
Free parking. Small picnic area, Port a potty on site. Popular location for hikers so don't be surprised to see others on the trail regardless of day, time or weather
Sunset from the overlook at silver tip. It's amazing over a long stretch of the lake. The mountains block the hideous Coeur d'Alene resort as well!
