Exactly how early do you have to be to the airport before takeoff

I agree with Jeffrey Stone on any given day there could be a delay. Have a smoothie or an adult beverage and have a nice trip.

I come 2 hours before. By the time I park, check in, and go through security, I wait about an hour.

Depends on the day and time flying out, if you are a morning flight it can be long but it's hard to estimate a true time. My last Friday morning flight at 630am was a 45 minute wait.
