As you make your way up you will notice all the rocks have a light blue tinge covering them. Blue hills is blue hills because the rocks appear to some as blue.

Agreed about the rocks. In a slight shadow I noticed the rocks appear to glow with a blue hue (they don't really, of course). But my family commented on it, as well.
