We took skyline trail east from houghton pond. It was a tougher climb. We went out and back a ways and really enjoyed it. The path does narrow at a few points. Would recommend sturdy shoes. Parking is very full and tricky to figure out where to park for which trail so make sure to look ahead of time.

Amazing landscapes and beautiful views that are all worth it after a long walk and trekking. Safe for kids and bringing your dogs for a walk. Being here just makes you feel alive again. Near to the city and is accessible via public …

Have not looked at the FAA regulations for drones lately, I would start there.
Yes, absolutely
You'll be fine with snow shoes
There are maps posted at the trails, you can also search blue hills trail map online and you can download a PDF
I don't think camping is allowed. There are no campsites.
No

You cannot drive up to the top. However, available parking at Houghton's Pond parking lot, 840 Hillside St., Milton MA
They have many different parking lots depending on which trail you decide to start at. No parking on the street at the section I go to. Which is near the building with animals on display.
Its closed up and gates shut no over nite there

You would need to get there early to "claim" your spot.
There are, but they are in an area of the blue hills that is not marked on the maps. If you buy a map at Reservation Headquarters, you'll see all of the different trails, none of which would lead you into their habitat.
Can I hike and pitch a tent and camp out there then leave the next day ?
Not supposed to, no, but generally not a big deal if your dog is well behaved.
Depending on the pattern of cold weather, snow cover will probably melt before more western trail systems. Caution is recommended because of the ice or slippery areas that the sun doesn't hit on a solid day.
It's about 7000 acres which equates to roughly 11 square miles.
You can go at the top of the great blue hill which is 635 feet. There is a tower there which lets you observe the landscape. Its beautiful.
As you make your way up you will notice all the rocks have a light blue tinge covering them. Blue hills is blue hills because the rocks appear to some as blue.
