It is very family friendly. Because it has some elevation change, I would rate it as "Easy+" but not "Moderate". I've seen many people with shorter legs or seemingly lower levels of fitness having an easy time of the hike. It can be muddy in places if it has been raining lately but those spots aren't too difficult to get around.
Agree with previous answers. I'm almost 60 and found the trail pretty easy + (to use Jeremiah's term =). Very popular trail for families with children. You can make the return hike a bit more challenging and longer by taking a fork in the path.
It is not too bad, pretty gradual. I've done it with my kids a couple times.
There are a few places you can choose between a steeper hike but the regular trail is pretty steady, not bad.
Im 50 and had no problem with it. We saw some seniors and little kids on the trail too. If youre seriously out of shape, it might br a problem.
Thanks, everyone! Very helpful.
