I used to go to the theater to catch second run movies that I'd missed. The seats weren't as nice, but I could easily catch up on films that I wanted to see. There are first run theaters much closer to my home with recliners. So if Cinemark goes with first run movies and higher prices, I doubt that I'll ever go there again. Columbus already has LOTS of first run movie theaters. Giving up their lock on second run movies to try to compete in a saturated first run movie market does not seem very smart.
We will never go there again! I hope they realize what a mistake they made. This family from Grove City will stay in town and go to our local AMC. I loved going up there to go-to the pet store and the bookstore, I believe they are not only hurting themselves with this greedy decision but also the surrounding businesses.
I too liked the older format. I will miss the dollar movies. I drove from the east side to see movies I missed at the regular theaters. I don't go to the movies to sit in a recliner. I go for entertainment
This is so sad for me. As a single mother of 3 we frequented this theatre as a second run theatre because I could afford it, now it will be a rare treat and I won't drive past all the other theatres to get to Bethel, I'll just go to one closer when we do get a chance to go.
I see no reason to go out of my way if this is just going to be like any other theater. Perhaps this will hurt their bottom line, since they were a unique draw to the area? I'd much rather go to the Studio 35 and have pizza and beer while I watch. Did you notice Amanda Denney's answer? You go to the second run theater, spend a dollar or two on tickets, but then spend the rest of your money on popcorn and drinks anyway. Cheap ticket + popcorn + drinks= full ticket prices. I personally never get food at a first run theater, who can afford it? I hope this genius CEO, whatever his name is, reads these. Why do rich people have all of the money and none of the brains (... Anthony Precourt of the Crew)?
I liked the old setup. My family and I would drive from the East side of town to enjoy movies, when we didn't have much to do. It was great for last minute fun. The price was nice, now it's like every other theater, so we will just go less and stay close to home.
You know the saying " If it ain't Broke don't fix it"? You should of followed that Quote! You're one big dummy for thinking people wanted glamour and fancy ass reclining chairs instead of lower prices and movies that we're SECOND run. Good Luck Oh Smart One 👎
I liked the older format also i was really disappointed when they told me it was going to the format they have now.
Loved the "cheap seats." Never going back again.
Yes my wife and me went there quite a lot when we lived down that way but people went their because it was low movie ticks and they could take the whole family and not cost an arm and a leg use to have a dollar theater in Mansfield also but it's been closed almost 2 years maybe 3 now so we go to the cinmark in Mansfield and go on the days that it is 5.00 but of corse we are seniors sits now it's a shame all of the dollar theaters are going by the wayside
