Not less than 5 hours if you want to enjoy it fully. Each and every spot is worth watching. You also want to take pictures. It's not worth it to spend only couple of hours. I just visited few days ago and it was pretty busy since morning. I spent 5 hours and wanted to spend two more hours to see sea lion show and some other places. If you just want to tell others that you have visited aquarium then 2 hours might be ok but if you go there as a real tourist, you may need 5 to 7 hours.
It's like a shopping center. There is a large space in the middle and you enter the different sections as if they were the stores of a shopping center. Sections are like the stores of the shopping center. Each section is very large. For example there is a section of dolphins, another one of sealions, etc.
It's totally up to you. You csn probably get a look at everything in an hour or so, but once you get captivated by something you are going to stop. There are also shows at different times that take approximately 20 minutes to watch.
We took our time and stopped for snacks, too 6 hours.
2 hours to walk through but if you want to see the shows, you need at least 3 hours. We walked each exhibit then and saw the sea lion, dolphin, and the 4D shark show. We were there from 4 to 730pm.
For my family we spent five hours and if we hadn't been tired would have stayed longer! The shows are awesome and give you a break to sit and relax between walking and navigating the crowds, it can get pretty crowded!
I got there at 10am and I left at 2:00. I went with my wife and my 3 years old daughter.
