My friends 21st birthday is on a Sunday & would like to make a reservation to celebrate on that Sunday. She called & asked if she can come in on sat @mdnight, the guy said u gotta have a horizontal ID to get in...how can she celebrate her 21st there?

Don't risk it. I know it seems crazy, but more and more bars are refusing to accept vertical IDs, even if they're perfectly valid. If they said no, they're probably one of these bars.

You should be able to get in once midnight hits because it is officially her birthday. I agree with the two people above me. No need to get a new license if it hasn't expired and you don't want to ruin her birthday. There are plenty of places to go.

Vertical Id's are still valid until their expiration date. They should still accept it. But I wouldn't chance it if they said no, they may be wrong but it's their bar.
