Can you get away with not reserving a tent campsite? Are there usually vacancies or is it completely full? Planning on visiting for the first time in July. Checked the website and seems like lots still available still.

It is a very busy park but.... ...there are some spots available at times. Best to check the Tillamook County Parks website and grab the park's phone number for current availability. Enjoy my favorite "off season" place on the planet.

Weekends are usually full, there's usually some space during the week. Anytime we're on 4th of July it's usually packed out. You can get online to the Tillamook County campgrounds and look at the reservations for barview Jetty and just see what availability they have for when you're thinking of coming whether or not you reserved. If you reserve something and you can't make it it will cost you the $11 reservation fee but you would be able to get some of your money back. I would recommend reservations

Depends on the weekend, we made reservations on the way when we were there this spring. We were there during a bad storm and it was still great!

Call and Reserve. Or Reserve online I do not believe they take drive up request

Yep, great off season spot. Summer time it's usually totally packed. I personally recommend Whalen Island. Very small park that recently opened after a long closure for bridge repairs. Still no showers. Avoid Sand Lake. Seems to have many accidents weekly.
