Do NOT attempt this without 4wd. We got about three miles from the campground when we hit a mud pit that covered the entire road, and was entirely impassable to our Ford Focus. Huge pot holes, creek rock gravel, and steep inclines.

Theres a second road that takes you up its a little longer but i was able to make it in the pouring rain in my mazda... not sure which road you took but try the other one
