What caused the William Houck Lake to dry up this summer/fall? Was it intentional or the result of the drought? How long will it take to bring the level back up to normal?

It was intentional. They are restructuring the swimming area of the lake to better support the natural flow of water from storms and the stream. I think they were hoping to have it done before swimming season in the spring, but I have no idea if they're still on track for that or not. And yes there aren't any natural lakes or ponds in MD. Lakes. And ponds are caused by glacier depressions and there (apparently) were never any glaciers over our state.
