Lovely place, great wines, tasty food and nice music - what else one can ask for on a sunny Sunday afternoon? And dog friendly place on top of it! I am told that their no-children policy (which some other reviewers have complained about) is caused by potential liability (think: insurance, lawsuits, etc.) Sadly, we do live in a country where people can sue for coffee being too hot…

LOVE this place! Great atmosphere in every season. Love coming in the fall especially but summer afternoons are special. We enjoy renting a fire pit in the winter. The tasting room and the staff are wonderful - very knowledgeable and friendly. The fireplace is cozy. Beautiful views of the Catoctin Mountains. The wines types are right my ally.

"We are getting ready to kick-out a family." This was the response I got from a tasting room worker when I asked what the problem was(they did not know it was MY family.) Apparently they do not allow children at this winery. Which is unnecessary in my opinion. My children were sitting at a picnic table reading and quietly building a puzzle when they were "spotted" as intruders. It was my fathers-day outing by the way. And I had just indicated that to the tasting room worker. My wife had ordered food from the food truck. I was doing a wine tasting and ready to enjoy some jazz music. I am not sure what reason they have to prohibit children. Every other winery in the county promotes a family atmosphere. But there is no reason to sound so smug and empowered to "kick out a family." I am a Certified Sommelier and a wine collector. I would likely have bought a case of wine and joined the wine club. I indicated that I wanted to try every wine they make and they could charge me appropriately. Its the 2nd closest winery to my home and could have been a regular stop for my "family." There was no consideration that my children were well behaved and enjoying the music. No offer to make an exception since we were already there. Nope, we had to go. Very sad. Nearly ruined my fathers day. So we waited to pay for our food as I felt bad for the food truck folks. We spoke with a nice couple there for the jazz that agreed our children should have been welcome. I hope this winery gets some better perspective. Maybe check your address before you decide to be this pretentious. And find some customer service training or better people. I will not be back. Nor will I recommend any of my wine enthusiast friends to visit. What a shame.

Came here after a day of hiking to unwind and relax. Came in shortly before closing and we were treated very well. Great service for our wine tasting and the views were incredible as well.

Yes they do. They have very good meads. They have red sweet, white sweet. I guaranty you that you shall not get bored at all. Enjoy
Food trucks are on site every Saturday and Sunday from March-November, and occasionally from Dec-Feb. You can check out website to see which food truck will be on site (and when). Cheers!
Hi Bradley, Catoctin Breeze is known for its dry reds. Old world inspired, unfined, unfiltered. Try the Concerto (blend), it’s probably the most popular wine at the moment. Once the Estate Cab Franc is back in stock, try that as well. Cheers!
Can I bring my children? We discourage our guests from bringing children in order to help maintain the pleasant adult atmosphere that our patrons seek. CBV is a working farm with several hazards; so if you decide to bring your children they must remain under your supervision at all times
I'm not sure they're in any stores
We occasionally have food trucks on weekends, but other than that, we do NOT serve food. Although, you are free to bring your own! Please check our website to see if a food truck will be on-site.
Absolutely! There is a lovely area under a pergola with tables where you can enjoy a meal.
