If my sister lives in Naperville, can I have her buy us two adult tickets in advance - maybe online - for only $20 each, instead of paying the $40 non-resident? Are they going to ask me for ID that proves I'm a resident?

The resident tickets are only for those that live in Chicago and yes you will have to show an ID for those tickets.
