Yes when you get to this very big patch and walk to the middle they are attached but they also line up a lot of loose ones on the main path of the patch if you just want to grab and go. My family very much enjoyed this place
I went on Tuesday, and there were some attached to the vine. They are in the patch that they were grown in... It's not like they just dropped them into a field for "picking" like other places if that makes sense! Also, the pumpkin patch is massive!
As of last week I did see some attached to their vines, others weren't
