We live in town and have come here for years. It has been one of our “go to” spots. Today changed that. They got a new chef recently and the scallops were small( probably not their fault but you would think they would make that up with quantity when you’re paying the same price for very small scallops) and sooooo overdone. And the manager (i believe he was a manager- a man in a blue Hawaiian shirt) stared us down the entire meal with dirty looks and was clearly talking about us disparagingly. It was a very different atmosphere and when we got up from the table we were CLEARLY not welcome at… they forgot all about the food we asked for TO GO specifically to help them when they were seemingly in a pinch? We are very easy going, tip well and love this restaurant but will gladly be taking our patronage elsewhere

My husband and I had the bourbon burgers. They were prepackaged and frozen then dry with only a tablespoon of sauce. Fries were only slightly crispy. Terrible meal for the price. Jane Jacobus

Chesapeake Tavern is my favorite restaurant in the area. Their food is always consistently good. I love their fresh oysters and their shrimp and grits is amazing the grits are so good. Any dish I’ve tried has always been great. They make nice drinks also. We recently had my bridal shower here and they did such an amazing job. We had a brunch buffet and everything tasted amazing. The service was also great. I think we had Justin and Rachel as our servers. The inside is really nice too they have a lot of windows with natural lighting. I love coming here and everyone I bring loves it too so definitely give it a try!

We were greeted professionally and seated right away. Our waitress Patricia was wonderful. Attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Creme Brulee was amazing.
