By my standards, Chester diner is in no way old and dated. It looked very nice, updated & spacious inside. I travel all around and outside of the state, so I have been exposed to diners in a variety of demographic areas. Chester diner is nice.
I'm surprised by this observation. I found the place to be very clean during my visit last week.
Old & dated
I agree. The silverware is dirty, the windows are dirty and the waitstaff is generally rude and/or dismissive. We live locally but avoid this place. We took a chance today because we were short on time. Never again. Creamer curdled in the coffee, food took forever to come and when it did it was awful. The eggs were runny, the bacon was raw, and the potatoes were burnt on top and raw inside. So raw they were still crunchy. The waitress was rude and dismissive. As I said, never again.
My SAAC club eats here every month for the past five years. The food and decor say welcome home.
Have eaten here at least weekly for 5 years, never saw a cleanliness issue. The roof leaks during torrential rainstorms; the ceiling is stained and discolored. Decor IS dated, last remodel was probably about 20 years
I do believe that the Chester Diner is in fact old and dated. But, it is in no way dirty. The food is exactly what you’d expect from diner food. It was one of the first places I dined at when I moved here 10 years ago and even now that I’m vegan I still come here for home fries and avocado bagels. My only complaint is that I wish they had tofu scramble.
