No but I would go early. We got there an hour early and we were about the 40th in line. They opened at 8 and we were out by 848. We did license plates and registration at the same time. If you don't have the registration paper they will give you one to fill out while you are win line.

Registration goes first and you don't need an appointment for that. During this procedure you will get the paperwork done and your new license plates will be given to you. If you want to go through vehicle inspection there (it is free), it goes by an appointment. they will give you the phone number to make an appointment for that
